about

Inspired by the film THX 1138 - This song is about two people who grow old together in times of rapid technological discovery. Global tyranny continues to threaten mankind, fame, and fortunes have been lost or stolen and the pleasures of life altogether cease to exist. Despite all of this they manage to escape the constructs that for so long have enslaved so many.

lyrics

"I was so afraid, so alone. I wanted to touch you, so many times"

He cried for forty days she cried for forty nights
They could squeeze blood from a stone with all their might
They survived off the rhythm of life the natural type in an atmosphere you couldn’t cut with a knife
Made their world rock steady when the crowd booed like Betty Together they jetted in their jet from the jetty
Fed their fans with more images then Getty
Then returned to their city got showered with confetti
Silver screen dreams are so sketchy especially when you lose access to random memory
Never mind, never signed, never believed in the hype
And never was she afraid of 'wuthering heights' or the dogs outside barks worse than their bites
Saw the sights she saw them bright city lights, saw people of all types shapes and sizes
Despite hidden disguises she knew she was the nicest
Plus her thought process was priceless
He never wondered where his wife is
He knew them chics from commercial flicks could cause a crisis
Loving a black Russian or white could ignite his old vices
And alert the spies to where the tumbling dice lies
Red and white copters over low lights they hovered
They spotted them both out in the clearing, targeted for what they overheard and were wearing
Neighbours disappearing while the crowd kept cheering but it wasn’t death that they were fearing
A section cesarean, the beast, the barbarian, the lone libertarian in stocks they were sharing in

"It can't go on forever, you know it can't"
"We could leave and go and live in the super structure"

Its funny when the clock stops you may start caring
Owning a map but still losing your bearings
Young and reckless with the temper of a tempest
Survived in the trenches seduced the temptress
He walked past the plaques on park benches bringing back old memories old boys of the century
Some now running on empty
Somehow he running on plenty, ready for re-entry, emergency energy
Hands off my lemon tree this is chemical synergy ‘til we we reach the cemetery
Deadly calm quite eloquently he told her it’s a beautiful psalm about me, you and the sorcerer’s charm
She knew the sorcerer’s charm was just a silent alarm for everything was dying out like in Cicero Park
Power from the street lights made the place dark
Until the mentally gifted caused the spark
She put her life into his arms broke free of the sorcerer’s charms
A blood splattered barn on a disused farm
They replaced it traced it escaped it unharmed

He cried for forty days she cried for forty nights
They could squeeze blood from a stone with all their might
They survived off the rhythm of life, the natural type
In an atmosphere you couldn’t cut with a knife
